RAAWWRRR

Blogging during English class couldn't be more fun. The teacher thinks I'm working on my coursework, when the truth is, I'm on this. The result? A happy teacher and a happy student.

I was window shopping at Mango the other day, and a wave of nostalgia blew me away: animal prints are back. From leopard, to cheetah, even to cow; we are wearing (hopefully fake) skin. After a little research I found these different ways to reminisce and bring back the patterns.

The difference this season lies mainly on the colours used. You're free to mix and match to obtain the perfect outfit.

Primitive Wear

Boho was nice while it lasted, making the gypsy look a little more stylish. Despite thinking that this trend has been long gone, the newer, more ethnic appeal has got me gripped. The patterns have become more defined, filled with bolder colours. Darker bottoms - such as black jeans or opaque tights - have been ruled over by exciting, intricate designs to attract the attention. However decieving it may be to see Lily Donaldson wear this as if she were a butterfly in a cocoon, I'm sure there's something to learn from Gucci's 2009 collection:

Along similar lines follows Cantão, adding a bit more colour. Imagine my pleasure as soon as I saw the masses of earrings, necklaces and braceletes involved! This look is all about being relaxed, having fun, and adding a little of the laid-back attitude...

The Bigger the Better

I've always loved clutches yet never found them too handy. When you're our shopping all you want is a comfy, big handbag where you can throw all your stuff inside, so clutches have always been left for nights out. I'm not sure how practical these S/S 09 oversized clutches will be, but I have to admit they are eye candy!

Runny-Nose Season

As has become obvious the latest trend this season has become the red-runny-nose "look". Everyone everywhere is "wearing it"... however all failing miserably to "pull it off".

People have actually chosen to strip down to bare skin and flesh. Are people all around the world layering down? Taking off their burberry trench coats and stripping down to spaghetti tops?

We recommend for the very first time to not follow a "trend" (as popular as it might be), and "coat up".
Miss Selfridge Grey Bubble Trench Coat, £60

Paul & Joe Sister Wool Triple Button Coat, £300

If you despair of winter's grungy dark palette, then a bright winter coat could brighten up your life, and your wardrobe. Avoid colour overkill by keeping things short-and-sweet, such as this super-cute pea green A-line coat by Paul & Joe Sister at asos.com.

Topshop Silver Domed Girly Coat, £80

Stand to attention! There is a distinct military feel to this Topshop tomato red coat, with its dome buttons and double-breasted shape. Perfect for those bored of the typical neutrals, this scarlet style will certainly ensure that you stand out from the crowd.

Warehouse tartan coat, £110

Don't be scared off by this season's tartan trend. An all-check coat may seem like a bold choice, but it will inject an instant dose of high fashion into your wardrobe. Try this style by Warehouse; you may be pleasantly surprised.

Thomas Burberry Black Cape at My-Wardrobe.com, £168

Beware trying on this Thomas Burberry Black cape: once on, you may never want to take it off. In chunky cable knit with black leather waist belt, it will not only keep you seriously warm, but is achingly on trend with its voluminous shape.

Dorothy Perkins Blue bow neck coat, £75

Opulent jewel tones make an elegant, and slightly different, choice for your winter coat this season. We love this bow neck design by Dorothy Perkins, with its chic full skirt. Concealed fastenings allow the luscious colour to remain the focus.

Some of the latest most fashionable layers of clothing this season, now please help us defeat the ruling days of the Common Cold.

Trendy Fendi

When I think about it, there is one word that really captures how I’ve been feeling about Fendi handbags: excited. The Fendi spy bag was once one of the biggest "it" bags of bag history. Remember the days of bagdom? I do. But the spy bag has had such a huge high that many now think it has hit a low.

But very simply changes can work out well, as seen below. These bags stick to simplicity, with the change being the material it is made of. There is the famous hidden coin purse, double top handles, and the foldover flap closure with wristlet accent... Enjoy!

The Bigger the Better

Louis Vuitton quit putting celebrities in their ads a couple of years ago, instead banking on supermodels, it appears that they may be headed back in that direction...

Have fashion and mathematics gone their separate ways? Our cell phones and lip glosses are getting smaller and smaller yet our handbags are getting bigger and bigger.

Oversized totes, hobo bags and Jackie O bucket and shoulder bags provide enough choices to accommodate business, casual and a night on the town.

This successful and forever changing line will I’m sure continue to re-invent itself with the latest of fashionable leather designs for bags, gloves, and other Louis Vuitton accessories that we droole over. The universe of Louis Vuitton has just begun...

Wrap It Up

I personally tend to wear my hair loose, but hair dos have varied along the years. High pony tails, low pony tails, side pony tails, plaits, braids, middle partings, side partings... These Baby Phat, Erin Fetherston, Lacoste and Mara Hoffman S/S '09 collections show a variety of hair dos, yet they have one thing in common: they're all wrapped up.

Flower Power

Floral prints have never been very much of an inspiration to me. They remind me of tacky motel wallpapers or my grandmother's skirt from the 1930s.

However, I must admit that after taking a look at the S/S 09 collections, my outlook on flowers has taken an 180º spin. From Tuleh, to Tracy Reese, to Peter Som, flower power seems to be back on the runway.

Petite floral prints, large bouquets and wildflowers – it’s the time when flowers bloom, and you will be seeing them in prints, embroidery and as borders on T-shirts and dresses.

Seems like I may be asking my grandmother for fashion advice sometime soon...

Exam Era

As we begin the endless nightmare of late night studying, study schedules, study programmes, study routines (all which we fail to accomplish), specific study hours on weekends and end our social life, we begin to look forwards to the exams- get them over and done with!

As we sit by our computers and try to find motivation and gather the Strength to allow ourselves to stay in on a Friday night and open that ridiculously heavy book standing just out of your arms reach- you wish you had RSVP that dinner party after all… you stand up, you unwrap yourself from that big warm blanket (the one you always wonder where and when and why you got it) shudder at the cold your about to fear, get up and get the damn book.

To study or not to study? Stay in on a Saturday night? That dinner-party is starting to sound like a great idea… that dress which you bought just a few weeks ago (the one you spent an absolute fortune on) is just hanging there, unused, desperately waiting to be worn for the very first time. Oh, and those shoes you treated yourself to last month, those gorgeous ones that match your unworn dress perfectly? ( I’ve only worn them once and got my perfect french-manicured toes completely deformed and “infected” with blisters.)

In the end your faced with a dilemma. You have a heavy weight championship female athlete, that over the past few years after being used by hundreds of students, has taken on the shape of a book (incredibly heavy and rather unattractive). And a fabulous expensive dress, that may take you to court for not having worn it yet and pair of fabulous, painfully expenisive, shoes who damage your feet on the inside but make your legs look ever so slim and delicious.

So… what "object" do you promote?
